‘Air force ready to defend Nigeria’

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, has said the Nigerian Air Force was prepared and combat-ready to confront any internal and external threat to the existence of the country.
He said the personnel of NAF even in the face of danger would protect the lives and property of Nigerians at all times.
Citing the recent suicide bomb attack on a church in Kaduna, the NAF boss charged the agency’s personnel to be resolute, and committed while urging them to remain non-partisan in all their undertakings.
The CAS, who stated this at the passing out parade of the recruits of the Basic Military Training Course 1/2012 at the 325 Ground Training Group , Air Force Base, Kaduna on Saturday, said the force was committed to the protection of the nation’s democracy  and Nigerians irrespective of their inclinations.
Badeh who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, NAF Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Gbolahan Adekunle, said NAF would not compromise the welfare of  its  officers and men.
He said, “As members of the Armed Forces, we shall continue to loyal to the Federal Government in its policy thrust of improving the social, economic and political well-being of the majority of the citizenry .As soldiers, you must submit to civil authorities, protect our democracy and remain non-partisan. You should avoid any act capable of denting the image of the Air Force and remember that you are duty-bound to protect all law abiding Nigerians irrespective of their inclinations.”
